Hardship Permits (2,4-D Hardship)

A 2,4-D Hardship Permit is required to apply Class F products (all 2,4-D and 2,4-D-containing products) between April 16 and September 15 in the following counties: Clay, Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Cross, Crittenden, St. Francis, Lee, Phillips, and Mississippi.

How to Obtain a 2,4-D Hardship Permit

First-Time Applicants

  1. Complete Form DP-61 – 2,4-D Hardship Permit Application
  2. Complete Form DP-62 – Field ID Form for each field to be treated
  3. Submit a $100 application fee per farmer
  4. Mail your complete packet to:

Renewals

  1. Visit the Pesticide Section Forms Webpage
  2. Scroll to “2,4-D Hardship Permit Application Forms and Supporting Documents”
  3. Complete and submit DP-61 and DP-62 by mail or email to [email protected].
  4. Once approved, you will receive an invoice with payment instructions via email or mail

Your permit can be viewed or printed using the License Search & Verification tool.

Important Permit Information

  • Your Permit Number is permanently assigned and viewable online.
  • To maintain your permit, you must submit DP-61, DP-62, and the applicable fee each year before using 2,4-D products during the restricted window (April 16–September 15) in designated counties.

Recordkeeping Requirements

  1. Follow all record requirements in Section XI(D)(2)(b) of the Arkansas Regulations on Pesticide Classification
  2. Complete Form DP-63 – 2,4-D Hardship Permit Record Keeping Form
  3. Submit records within 10 days of the application date
