The Food & Nutrition Division, launched in October 2025, brings together two former units from the Arkansas Department of Education. The division administers multiple federal programs such as the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program, Child and Adult Feeding Program, Summer Food Service Program, Emergency Food Assistance Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant Program.
By moving oversight to the Department of Agriculture, the division strengthens farm to school connections and streamlines program delivery.
