Weights and Measures
The Weights and Measures Program ensures equity in the marketplace for consumers, retailers and manufacturers by unannounced inspections of products for price, quantity, method of sale and operation of scales and fuel dispensers. Products are inspected at retail and manufacturing facilities.
Products inspected are items sold by weight, measure, length or count.
The Weights and Measures Program investigates consumer complaints concerning pricing, short measure of purchased product, method of sale and operation of scales and fuel dispensers.
Inspections are conducted in accordance with Arkansas Annotated Code and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Handbooks 44, 130 and 133.
