The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a temporary waiver, effective March 25, 2026, allowing the production and distribution of a single national gasoline blend containing up to 15 percent ethanol (E15) at a common Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) standard of 10 psi during the summer months.
Fuel bulk terminals may continue selling ethanol‑blended gasoline in Arkansas after May 1, 2026. The waiver is currently set to expire on May 20, 2026; however, the EPA has stated that it intends to extend the waiver until present fuel supply circumstances abate. As a result, the Arkansas waiver will remain in effect as long as the EPA continues to renew the waiver throughout the summer RVP season.
At the end of waiver period, any gasoline meeting the conditions of this waiver that is stored in terminal storage tanks for distribution to retail outlets and wholesale purchaser-consumers may be distributed and sold until the supply is depleted. Likewise, retailers and wholesale purchaser-consumers in these areas may continue selling or dispensing gasoline that meets the conditions of this waiver after the date the waiver expires, until supplies in their storage tanks are depleted.
