Notice of Proposed Rule Change, Comment Period, and Public Hearing: Amendments to Rules on Pesticide Use

Notice is hereby given that the Arkansas Department of Agriculture is proposing amendments to Arkansas Rules on Pesticide Use, 2 CAR Pt. 70, to include the sale and use of warfarin (Kaput). Under the authority of Ark. Code § 20-20-206, the proposed amendments create a new classification of pesticide, Class J, to include all pesticides containing warfarin when used as a feral hog (Sus scrofa) toxicant. The newly added 2 CAR § 70-115 sets forth requirements for dealers, applicators, training, and record keeping related to the sale and use of Class J pesticides.

Interested parties may submit comments to the proposed rule amendments until January 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Public comments will be accepted by email to [email protected] or by mail to Arkansas Department of Agriculture, Attn: Matthew M. Ford, 1 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205. Oral and written comments received during the public comment period will be made part of the record.

A public hearing for receipt of comments will be held at the Arkansas Department of Agriculture at 1 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205 on January 14, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

This Legal Notice will be published in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette on December 14, 15, and 16, 2025.
